DBT, FICCI to hold int’l conference on biotechnology
The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) are jointly organising an international conference on biotechnology in India on 20-22 May, 2002 at Delhi.
The conference is being organised to highlight India’s capabilities in biotechnology and facilitate investment flows into this sector.
The conference will provide an opportunity for learning and networking with top scientists, CEOs, policy makers and senior government officials. Speakers from China, Russia, USA, Philippines are also invited to speak on the biotechnology scenario in their respective countries.

54th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress
The 54th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC), 2002 is scheduled to be held on the 13-14-15 December, 2002. The Congress will be held at Bharati Vidyapeeth Educational Complex, Dhankawadi, Pune.
‘Biotechnology-A Challenge to Pharmacy Profession’ is the theme of the Congress where more than 5000 national and international delegates are expected.
The conference would have special sessions on biotechnology, NDDS, documentation and regulatory affairs in the global context. Also, special sessions for community pharmacist on pharmaceutical care services will be organised. Other highlights of the Congress are:
– Career counselling and panel discussion for student pharmacists
– Scientific presentations-oral and poster with awards
Pharmaceutical expo organised by FICCI
– Exhibition on consumer health awareness for the first time.
