Erweka, founded in 1951, is named after the initials of the founders Erwin Schmidt, Werner Dräger and Karl Ferlings. It is a private owned internationally operating group with more than 100 employees existing for more than 50 years. It is one of the leading manufacturers of all purpose and pharmaceutical testing equipment for solid dosage forms eg tablets, capsules, coated tablets etc and has a distinguished record for high quality products, reliability and excellent customer service. The company believes that customers are its priority, and therefore, its main aim is to satisfy its customers’ needs. The company does this through highest quality at a reasonable price, state-of-the-art equipment, best possible customer support, effective service and easy validation of the equipment. In 1952, the first series of the world recognised all purpose equipment was successfully used and developed. Besides Integration tester (1951), brisk development of further test equipments such as hardness testers (1952) were also developed. The first dissolution tester came in the market in 1968 and the first combination tester was launched in 1984.

Owing to the increasing world-wide awareness, the company was registered as a trademark in 1983. Since then, the company has developed and improved its manufacturing program continually, in order to correspond to new requirements and forge new ideas. Besides this, the company has spread its wings through its subsidiaries in Europe, Asia and the USA and is represented world wide.

The company has recently developed ERWEKA RoboDis in close co-operation with Bayer, therefore, reflecting state-of-the-art operational know how acquired in over 15 years of process optimisation and automation in method development and quality control laboratories. It has also launched ERWEKA MediPrep 120.
