Indian pharmaceutical scientist receives AAPS recognition

Dr Ramapuram Jayachandra Babu, a Florida A&M University (FAMU), College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (COPPS) scientist received the 2003 American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Postdoctoral Fellow Award, informed a release.
He was formally recognised at the AAPS Annual meeting held at Salt Lake Palace Centre, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. This award was given to him in recognition to his outstanding research work during his postdoctoral training period on the development of novel neuroinflammatory inhibitors for the therapy of psoriasis and contact dermatitis, according to the release.
Dr Babu received his PhD in Pharmaceutics from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India under the supervision of Dr J K Pandit, professor, Pharmaceutics. ‘‘I am very excited to be the recipient of the 2003 AAPS Postdoctoral Fellow Award. This greatly motivates me to work harder to achieve success in competitive environment,’’ said Dr Babu.
