Mandsaur IPA branch celebrates National Pharmacy Week 2001

B R Nahata College of Pharmacy celebrated the National Pharmacy Week 2001 on the eve of newly inaugurated ‘‘Mandsaur Local Branch of IPA’’.
Communicating the theme, ‘‘Pharmacist in Healthcare: Counselling for women’s welfare,’’ a silent rally was organised. More than 300 pharmacist including students, retails and wholesale pharmacists and teachers participated in the rally wearing white aprons, distributing pamphlets and holding banners with slogans indicating the women’s healthcare awareness. The rally flagged off by Surendra Nahata, chairman of the college, from college campus and went through the main parts of the city (about 5 km, path) covering maximum population of the town.
During the National Pharmacy Week celebrations a camp was organised in nearby village Bhuniayakheri, for the awareness of health care major amongst the women, the pamphlets highlighting the role of pharmacist in general healthcare were also distributed. Some speeches were delivered in various local organised amongst the pharmacists.
National Pharmacy Week 2001 was inaugurated by Dr S Saraf, principal of the college on November, 18, 2001 and the budding pharmacists were informed about their role and challenges in the society of new millennium.
