Pharma scrips witness hectic activity

The Bombay Stock Exchange on the first trading day of the week (Monday 18) opened at 3,611 and closed at 3633.93. The sensex witnessed hectic activity due to expectation of a reform-oriented budget. On Friday sustained institutional buying of select pharma stocks helped them to gain further ground. On Friday 22, the sensex opened at 3566 and closed at 3604.08, registering a gain of 34 points against Thursday’s close of 3570.46 but losing 30 points against Monday’s close.
