CMP India announces 2009 CPhI / ICSE / P-MEC India

UBM India, a part of United Business Media had cancelled the CPhI/ICSE/P-MEC India 2008 trade exhibition due to terror attacks in Mumbai. The exhibition will now be held from December 1-3, 2009 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.
The second edition of P-MEC India will showcase pharma machinery and equipment, a market that is experiencing a 15 percent growth in India. It will aim at offering a privileged insight into the opportunities for both, suppliers and buyers of pharma machinery and manufacturing equipment.
M Gandhi, Managing Director, UBM India, said, “UBM India considers safety as a paramount importance for the exhibitors and visitors. We have taken the decision in consultation with industry and local authorities, in the interest of the safety and security of all the exhibitors and visitors.”
“We join UBM India for the cancellation of CPhI India 2008. The sudden unforeseen events created unsafe atmosphere throughout Mumbai. We acknowledge organisers concern for the safety and security of exhibitors as well as visitor’s under present situation,” said Smitesh Shah, Vice Chairman, Pharmexcil.
Dr Ajit Dangi, President and CEO, Danssen Consulting, said, “We are sorry to learn that the exhibition has been cancelled due to security situation in Mumbai. But we fully endorse the decision, as our primary responsibility is towards the safety and security of our employees, visitors, exhibitors and our esteemed overseas guests.”
