Ranbaxy appoints Dr Barbhaiya as R&D head

Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited has appointed Dr Rashmi Barbhaiya to head its research and development programme. Dr Barbhaiya will take over Dr J M Khanna, president R&D, who retires on July 31, 2002.
Dr Barbhaiya joins Ranbaxy after having pursued a successful career with Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) Pharmaceutical Research Institute in Princeton, New Jersey, USA, where he was Vice President and worldwide head of the Department of Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics in the Division of Discovery and Early Development.
