GCCI celebrates founder’s day

GLOBAL Cancer Concern India (GCCI), a national level NGO, celebrated its Founder’s Day recently at the Shanti Avedna Ashram.
The meeting was presided over by Maj Gen. R S Pannu, the president of Global Cancer Concern India. General Pannu highlighted the work of GCCI and said that the Organisation had decided to celebrate its Founder’s Day at Shanti Avedna Ashram.
On this occasion, the GCCI also honoured doctors, nurses and journalists for their outstanding contribution to cancer care. The Shanti Avedna Ashram was also honoured for its outstanding contribution, in providing palliative care to terminally ill cancer patients.
The function comprised eminent trustees and staff members of GCCI. The audience consisted of cancer sufferers, cancer orphans, donors, eminent doctors, nurses and personalities from the corporate/ journalists world.
Established on 6 March, 1998 GCCI is working nationwide for cancer care.
Its spectrum of activities range from preventive measures and awareness of symptoms, for timely detection and diagnosis, relief of pain and palliative care in homes and institutions, and rehabilitation of cancer stricken families, orphans and carers.
